The Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ was announced back in MWC this year and it did take Lenovo Malaysia a long time to bring it over. The device runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and has a quad-core processor to do all the heavy lifting. The tablet also has an 8 MP rear camera and a 1.6 front camera but it looks like both of these are of the fixed-focus type. The 10.1” IPS LCD display has a WUXGA resolution but Lenovo has not mentioned if there’s any form of scratch resistant coating.
The 9,000 mAh 3-cell battery is said to keep the action going for 18 hours at a stretch. This is thanks to the cylindrical design at the bottom, which also serves as a base when placed on a flat surface. The tablet will allow users to adjust the viewing angle from anywhere between 30 to 80 degrees. There are also two front-facing speakers with Dolby audio sound and a microphone with noise reduction for calls.
Here are the specifications:
- 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8228) CPU and Adreno 305 GPU.
- Runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with custom UI. Upgrade to 4.4 KitKat coming soon.
- 10.1″, 1200 x 1920 (WUXGA), IPS LCD screen with a pixel density of 224.17 ppi.
- 2GB of RAM, 16/32 GB internal memory and accepts microSD card of up to 64 GB.
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and micro-USB 2.0.
- Supports GPRS, EDGE, and HSPA+.
- 8 MP rear camera but has no flash, and 1.6 MP front camera.
- 9000 mAh, non-removable, Li-Ion battery.
- Dimensions are 180 x 261 x 3.0 – 9.1 mm and weighs 628 g.
Lenovo Malaysia is selling only the 32 GB version that comes with a 3G connection. For those looking for a Wi-Fi only version, you’d have to look elsewhere as Lenovo Malaysia will not be bringing in that variant. The Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ was originally priced at RM 1,499 but has since seen a reduction in price and now retails for RM 1,299.

The Lenovo Miix 2 8, as its name would suggest, is a tablet with an 8” IPS LCD display. This tablet runs Windows 8.1 and, combined with the quad-core Intel processor from the Bay Trail-T line, will be able to handle both work and play with equal ease. There’s 2 GB of RAM on tap and a 64 GB storage, though users are not left with a lot since the OS takes up about 20+ GB after installation. The Miix 2 8 also comes with a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera.
As with the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+, it looks like the cameras here are of the fixed-focus type as well. The tablet comes with a 4730 mAh Li-Po battery and this is claimed to keep the tablet going for more than 10 hours.
Here are the specifications for the Miix 2 8 tablet:
- 1.86 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3740 (Bay Trail-T, Silvermont Architecture) CPU and Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail) GPU.
- Runs Windows 8.1.
- 8″, 1280 x 800 (WXGA), IPS LCD screen with a pixel density of 188.68 ppi.
- 2GB of RAM, 64 GB internal memory and accepts microSD card of up to 64 GB.
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and micro-USB 2.0.
- Supports GPRS, EDGE, and HSPA+.
- 5 MP rear camera but has no flash, and 2 MP front camera.
- 4730 mAh, non-removable, Li-Po battery.
- Dimensions are 215.6 x 131.6 x 8.35 mm and weighs 350 g.
For the Miix 2 8, Lenovo Malaysia is also making only one version available here and only in Silver. The 64 GB tablet was previously priced at RM 1,399 but has now come down to RM 999. To sweeten the deal, the device also comes with MS Office Home and Student 2013.
